Patrakar Samman Yojana Scheme has renamed as Bihar Patrakar Pension Yojana. This scheme is benefiting more for the journalists in Bihar from Bihar government. The Bihar state government has started the pension scheme for journalists.
Bihar government has modified the pension schemes for journalists already running in the state. IPRD (Information and public relations department) has directed by the chief minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar has renamed the scheme and also made necessary changes in existing pension rules for the eligible retired journalists in Bihar.
The state government also requested the journalist’s delegation to come with some suggestions for this Patrakar Samman Yojana. There are several issues facing the journalists for the shortage of funds. The main issue is not receiving the adequate funds from the state.
As per the current scheme, the journalists are liable to get the pension of Rs 5000 per month. Previously some journalists have requested the state government to increase the pension amount. The main aim of this Patrakar Samman Yojana is to help journalists financially at their old age.
The existing EPFO was becoming the hurdle implementing pension scheme. Bihar government suggested that eligible candidates can apply this scheme. Without the IPRD accreditation, many of the eligible Bihar journalists are unable to withdraw their funds. For the new projected amendments that are surety, more journalists will benefit this scheme.
Eligibility for Patrakar Samman Yojana in Bihar:
- The retired journalist has at least 20 years of experience in the fields.
- The applicant should be the 60 years to get a pension
- The journalist should have the IPRD (information public relation department) accreditation. They verified the journalists and also withdraw the pension
- The persons who are already taking the pension from EPFO are not eligible for this scheme.
